Managed to drag my carcass up Carn an Tuirc in Glenshee. Unfortunately misty and windy conditions defeated me in my Ptarmigan hunt. Highlight being 4 ring ouzel and this beautiful butterfly. Think it's a Small Pearl-bordered Fritillary but happy to be corrected.

Braw walk yesterday in the Moorfoot Hills from Gladhouse. Pretty draufty but no problem for the skylarks and meadow pipits.

Lovely walk yesterday up to Ryvoan bothy in the Cairngorms. Today a drive up Findhorn valley with views of at least 2 Golden Eagles and my best ever view of a White-tailed Eagle.

Crackin walk up Birnam Hill (Dunkeld) today. Highlight being good views of noisy Crossbills in stunning light.
