I last played Champions of Midguard 4 years ago. I was so put off by the theme but it’s such a banger. Love sending my warriors out to fight. I think the combo of worker placement and combat just works !

An afternoon re-learning viticulture with a lovely themed playlist …. Perfect way to avoid blue Monday 🍇 🍷 🥂

Just finished the game Gris on switch. I think it’s the most beautiful, moving game I have played in analogue or digital format. Ever. At a time when I’m working on preparing for grief that I know is coming at some point this year, it’s been really helpful. 10/10

Fliptoons is a game I enjoy as you get through the majority of the deck in each play. Theres something a little weird / clunky about it that I can put my finger on but…. Solid replayable card game - 8/10 for me.

My friends love qwirkle so I bought flex to show them next weekend. I think they’ll like it. Looking forward to showing them 🙂

Today, for a bit of self care, whilst my partner is on a hospital visit, I’m claiming playing a few solo games in peace with tea and music 💜

Saturday morning relaxation

Played harmonies today (first time in quite a while) and I don’t think I like it 🫣. Sometimes, for me, a game is too many different puzzles all at once and my brain just shouts “boring” at me.

Distracting myself from life complexities with another underplayed card game from my collection. Card drafting is something I quite like in games. This does it in a neat, clean way. 7/10

It’s been a long time since I’ve payed Valley of the Kings. Don’t regret ditching premium version and replacing it with the tiny compact OG version at all.

A different Saturday night for me. No board games but 9 friends got together to do a murder mystery evening party. The party, theme, characters, group etc was 10/10 by the actual “mystery” was less than optimal. Wish we’d got together to play mysterium, awkward guests or the traitors! 😂

Skulk hollow for the first time in 4 years

Underrated- Tactiki by draw lab games. Played 4 times in 2 days. Now… back to toy battle!

It’s been a long time (2 years! 🫣) since I’ve got final girl to the table. It’s one of those ones where I just wish it was a bit less bitty and faffy. It’s so thematic and so fun but it’s a slog to set up.

I am honestly just loving this game. So quick and simple but the variety between maps is pretty fun!

The game we ended up playing today (out of the 12 I brought with me) was think words (tapple). We played without the timer (low stress) and we played with our own categories. My brother in law asked to play it 3 times in a row. He’s looking forward to playing at home on “advanced” (timer) mode 😊

My bro in law had a serious ax last month; suffered brain injury. I’m visiting 2mro. although he wont recognise me (only remembers I like snooker), I hope 2 play a light game of cards or dominos or something so that play can bring a bit of light to a horrendous time. Any v. light game suggestions?

Clank legacy 2. Done. ✔️ 12 games in 2 months, about 40 hours of play to celebrate my 40th birthday. It was a delight. All the mixed reviews I’ve read make sense - valid. For me- I enjoyed the things they tried and the notes from legacy #1 feedback.

Mid way through clank legacy 2, game 4. I love it; I just need (a) a banquet table (b) a lot of time (c) to stay in the mindset of it being an adventure story / exploration so it doesn’t “feel” like the game is constantly being interrupted. About 10 hours in since sunday. 💜
