There is a certain joy with my home wifi ssid and password being a pun. A joy on hearing my wife groan every time she forgets it and I remind her. Then a moment of thanks that she has put up with my garbage for so long.

At Buscarron's last night, I got to watch some fresh faces wander in to do low level questing a few stopping in shock before carrying on but some stayed and joined in. Watching their chat style evolve as the night went on. Seeing them find their stride and their characters voice was as a treat.

Starting Day 4 and over 250 small-sized fish have be caught and recorded! No Ruby Dragons qualified this morning, with only 1 window left during the derby. There's also some difficulty fish coming up. Will the fishing community be able to get these rare small fish?! #FFXIV

Today is a new one. A submission to the RP Event Calendar with the URL being the listing on one of the other services. One I usually redirect people to when they submit things that don't belong on the RP Event Calendar. ... I wonder if this is one of the ones I directed there in the first place.

In about an hour and a half from the time of this post, at 7PM US Eastern, over on the Materia Data Center (all can data center visit to join) the Museum network is having a pun-fulled murder mystery. Hopefully I'll see some of you there. Personally, I'm suspicious of Count Par-Wrasse. #FFXIV

I've heard Erah'sae pronounced in so many different ways sometimes I forget what the original pronunciation was. I always assume other characters pronounce it correctly unless someone specifically accents it weird. I've yet to actually run into another Erah'sae in person, though.

Erah'sae would feature in some sort of survival/horror game where he's both trying to survive in the depths of a forest that wants to eat him while evade family that wants to keep him there. A low powered dark souls-esque game focused on escape instead of "winning" the fights.

There is so much going on in the FFXIV RP community all the time. It can create a sense of fatigue, always moving from one event to the next. Sometimes it is good to let the the characters sit and their stories develop in the quieter moments between.

I am hoping to drag a number of Keepers of the Moon and those who tolerate us out to this wonderful gathering where, conveniently, food is being fished up. What more could a hungry Shroud Cat want? Lets pick a day and do this entirely in character, perhaps?

Suddenly, I noticed a faint smell of tuna. I looked over at my office partner, Dr. Hunt. She was grinning by the machine she'd built. "It works!" "Nice," I said. "What is it?" "What you smell is the ghost of tuna!" I felt something brush against my leg. The office filled with ghostly purring.

I look at how the MSQ events would impact the common folk in the game. Many things that happen are world shaping events. The Dragon Song War, the Liberation of Ala Mhigo, the Final Days. These things have far more meaning meaning for the world beyond the fight with Nidhog or the Endsinger.

If I may make a humble suggestion... I'm seeing a ton of posts where people are reposing some atrocity and giving it airtime while saying "this is bad". Don't advertise for them. Say 'they're bad, here's why' but don't give their kofi, commission, portfolio links, etc. Don't give them business.

There is something very typically South Shroud of a scene where one Keeper of the Moon is getting his arm stitched up by another. A third Miqo'te sits near by asking them for help with this week's crossword puzzle. None of the three seem phased by any of this. Just Buscarron's Druther's things.

Erah'sae would drive an old Chevy impala he found it abandoned before the Calamity and fixed it up. It's seen a lot of different parts over the years. It's been repainted, the doors are scavenged from a different model and the AC only works on Tuesdays, but it never fails to get where it's going.

Kahless tells us that in the face of censors, of oppressors who would use your words against you even if true, you must speak out all the more loudly. All you do by silencing yourself voluntarily is save them the effort of silencing you.

The small hell of every group in the community having it's own discord server and trying to check up on things for the calendar... If only there were a shared space were everyone could create their own or thread in a non-ephemeral fashion... A forum, if you will. Nah, that'd be silly. </nostalgia>

Please, please, get events published -early- so other people can plan around or for your stuff. Even if it's just a "The Lodge: All Saints. Oct. 11th" sort of thing, that is ok. Post and or send to the calendar, venues,or whatever you can early. Update it later with the flyer and more details or

My general writing circle is weird since I spend more time on alts checking out new places, due to the calendar. Primarily, I've seen my alts getting cold shouldered right after answering "no, sorry" to getting asked about Mare usage decrease considerably. This is the most direct change for me.

Do not allow words directed against you to become your burden. You have enough weight on your shoulders already -- don't let those who wish you ill encumber you with more.

Today is the day. Roleplay and watching Fruity Snacks murder people with a fish. All for a good cause.

Our little Buscarron's project keeps my week moving some times. Discovering three new folk's stories, a former coeurlclaw, a lady accosted by some sort of new beast in North Shroud, and a down in their luck fisher having had their lucky lure stolen. Their creativity is a breath of fresh air.

Personality is the sort of thing you're going to be dealing with the most, so that is where I start. Are they angry at the world, are they a kind gentle soul, or are they a ball of anxiety? Start with that, then work backwards, what made them that way, from that you start to build out the rest.
