I've read PhD Comics for years & really enjoyed it, but I only discovered he has a podcast a few months ago. Since then I've listened to a few episodes (& the one on procrastination 2X b/c it's an issue for me) & think it's great. I don't need more podcasts, so if I added it, it's worth it. ⚛️

Today I made hazelnut truffle sandwich cookies. This is the second time I've made them & I cut the recipe in half. They are pretty rich & there's almost no way to eat more than one - so this time I made a smaller batch so they won't get stale. Recipe w/ my notes attached. ##CookieParty #baking

When I was in 6th & 7th grade, we lived in Boulder b/c my birth-mom was getting her masters degree at CU. We were SO poor it was crazy, but one of the things we did was 2 or 3X a week we'd go to this building b/c it was free. Although we called it the "&0.25 tour" 🙂

I scheduled an #Uber for the airport: SeaTac @ 6:30AM tmrw Sun, March 15th. It is scheduled to costs $60.91. I saw a news report that TSA folks are fed up, quitting & to expect long lines. So I tried to move my Uber 15 mins earlier to 6:15. That caused the price to go to $105. That's insane...

So, the little monsters(who turn two y.o. on March 15th. The Ides of March - so fitting) broke their cat tree last night. They love that 'perch' so I have no choice but to replace it. Thoughts on how? Do I go to a big retailer b/c they'll be cheaper.

I grew up in Miami and believe that has a lot to do with why I LOVE the snow! 😉 I joke I'm like a six y.o. or a puppy whenever it snows, as I get over-the-moon excited, have to jump and play in it no matter what :) And since we get so little snow in Seattle...

Today's baking project was Turtle Brownies from the Martha Stewart "Cookies" book. I make this recipe often, but I've never been crazy about the 'brownie' base. I generally think it's just a turtle topping delivery system, but next time I'm going to make a better basic brownie. ##cookieparty

Today's baking: chocolate chip cookies. This is my recipe I've been fiddling w\ years & open to ideas... 1) I think the brown to white sugar ratio is still off; I want a 'crinkly' cookie but it needs a little more body 2) I always make w/ walnuts but today I used pecans; I prefer walnuts #baking

Wow! The Seattle Seahawks are going to be sold after the Superbowl! I don't know to whom, but that's kinda crazy. And why didn't they wait until after the game to tell the fans? Especially Seattle fans due to history (Sonics).

One of the suggestions is the play: "Here There Are Blueberries." I saw this last week and loved it. Amazing production designs which added extra intensity to a profound and deeply troubling play about the every day lives of the officers and day workers at Auschwitz and how normal they found it.

And next will be Ohio, b/c they're a red state, and he'll expect that there won't be any protesters. Or at least, very few. My guess is they'll try to use that to change the narrative...

Tonight I saw the play: "Here There Are Blueberries" and thought the stage production almost rivaled "Dear Evan Hansen" in staging - it was brilliant. I also cried almost through the whole play, and I think others did too. I went to Auschwitz on January 28th 2001 - the day after 'liberation day'

Yesterday's baking project was: shortbread-esque cookies filled w/ punched-up Nutella. I don't have a recipe for this one, but I'll put the steps in a second post. These are super easy & a huge hit every time. More than once I have brought these for the first day of a new job, & became a hero 😉🍪
