Absolutely loved the first two episodes of WONDER MAN. The ATLANTA comparisons are right on in terms of tone. Smart and thoughtful; funny and slightly absurdist. Mateen and Kingsley are a delight together.

When you look at the action set pieces in the two Dalton Bonds, it makes a lot of sense Chris Nolan saw them as a teenager.

The Memento Amoris sequence is shatteringly beautiful and not at all what I expected from this movie. This time, there were tears.

Occurring to me that this movie is filled with shots with a fantasy feel, specifically the picturesque countryside. So good.

The editing is mindblowing. Intercutting scenes of medieval combat with the sniper sequence from WEEKS? Genius.

Watching the masterpiece that is 28 YEARS LATER.

RESIDENT EVIL: REQUIEM looks more and more awesome with each preview. I look forward to watching a let’s play of it because I know I would not make it more than hour before noping out.

I think it’s neat that Spielberg used the sequel to his juggernaut dinosaur movie just to say “daughters are awesome”

I occasionally am reminded of the initial critical reactions to STARSHIP TROOPERS and it’s frankly amazing just how many completely missed the point.

Did what I often do when I’m in a funk, I put on THE NICE GUYS.

I absolutely love Yoshi. His design, the little noises he makes, the fact that he’s a lizard horse who eats apples and lays eggs with various power-ups. The best.

JUDGMENT NIGHT: Solid, well-shot (split diopters galore!) schlock. Ideal Saturday afternoon fare. Hopkins knows how to make grimy nighttime action sing. Also cool to see that Stephen Dorff had *it* right away.

Going to watch a new-to-me movie because this medium is how I deal. Picked JUDGEMENT NIGHT because folks I trust have been talking it up lately.
