Comic Display Update!

My favorite part of Superheroes is when they don't just save someone physically, but mentally and emotionally too.

I've been reading Superman comics lately, and gotta be honest, he's growing on me.

Today's haul from Ollies and Half Price Books.

This and The Batman with Robert Pattinson are now my two favorite comic book movies!

If you want an R-rated Law and Order with a series of self-contained stories and miniseries that build one over arching story, then pick this, or the four trades that make it up, up!

This is one of the best collections of stories I've ever read! Cassandra had the most compelling and inspiring story in all of the Bat-Family!

So, I'm reading Cassandra Cain Batgirl comics and... I think I've found my new favorite superhero! Cassandra is so well written, badass, and down to earth!

I loved this! It felt like it took a lot of what was fun about JP3 and applied the mutations to it. I really don't get the hate.

For me, this is when Catwoman really started to become the character I know and love today. Walking the line between the villain she was and the anti-hero she is now. Over this arc, you really see her come into her own and leave the Bat's shadow.

As you celebrate Independence Day, remember to stand up for the people around you and never let the hateful people tell you that they deserve to be mistreated. If someone is saying someone doesn't belong here, stand up for them. It's the American Way.

So, I've been thinking about doing YouTube videos or a podcast about comics and maybe a little history as well, but I'm still workshopping it. Maybe a history of Marvel, DC, and various indie publishers and characters. Again, not really sure where to start. Also, today's haul.

This is definitely not a typical superhero story, which I really liked. It was closer to a character study of an alternate history with art that served as a mirror to comics of different eras. A really interesting read!

Happy Pride Month! If you want a good comic book for LGBT+ representation, I recommend Batwoman Elgy. Not only a great story in it's own right, but goes over her origin and shows her father's reaction to her coming out.

This was an amazing book that takes you on a deep personal journey to introduce you to Frank Einstein and The Atomics with gorgeous artwork that is a celebration of the comic book medium!

I already read a lot of IDW, Image, Dark Horse, and BOOM!, but I'm always looking for more indie and underground comics, if anyone knows of or creates any, I'd love to check them out.

I fully updated my "Wall of Fame!" Single issues: Detective Comics 643, Star-Lord The Special Edition, and HellBoy Winter Special. Series: Jurassic League (6 issues), Strange (10 issues), and Dark Ride (12 issues).

An interesting twist on the X-Men formula where everyone on Earth has been mutated and the Humans are the strange ones. I'll definitely keep an eye out for more issues!
