A delightful nostalgic slap in the chops. Films incl. E.T. & Jaws & toys & life as a kid of the 70s & 80s. Felt like a kid once more and wanting my Star War5 figures again. “Watching Skies” by

is a nostalgic trip & an essential read for anyone born in the 70s. 💙📚

Getting funny looks on the train because of laughing loudly as I leave London for my home (in a quaint village). I thoroughly recommend “Your Guide to Not Getting Murdered in a Quaint English Village” by

Beyond thrilled with the LE The Hobbit from The Folio Society. Looks great next to the matching LE Lord of the Rings. 📚💙

Copies of this poster appearing in Manchester this weekend. Worth a read. Applicable also to other British cities I am sure. Too many vested interests have talked up the emerging urban model.

Love this. ‘Queue’ is from the French word with the same spelling (but pronounced as ‘kuh’) meaning an animal’s long tail. In the 18th and 19th centuries it also referred to a pigtail and was sometimes spelled as ‘cue’, which gave us the name of the long thin rod used in snooker.

Picked this up from my local independent bookshop. Limited and numbered. Richard Ayoade’s world building of his doppelgänger alter ego Harauld Hughes. Looking forward to diving in. 💙📚

My word of the day (and personal recommendation) is ‘snerdling’ (18th century): nestling cosily beneath the covers and holding off the day a little longer. Morning.
