Spent the day in one of my favourite places on the planet, York! I love this city and its plethora of book shops. Everything is so cosy and old fashioned and so full of personality. I will never stop visiting this gem.

I hate comping my novel because it feels too unique but here we go. The Chaos Chronicles has the magical folklore and religious system of Dragon Age. The magi leadership and epic fantasy setting of Wheel of Time. The dark themes and character focus of Shadow and Bone.

I think the emotions and the characters have a lot of similarities to myself and my own struggles, but since it’s a fantasy world there’s really not much similar there. Writing is my therapy so all kinds of things are bound to slip out. 🤷‍♀️ #askanauthor #writingcommunity

The interlude in Book 2 called “the language of flowers”. I used flower meanings to hint at what each character was feeling at the time. I even hinted at certain popular romantic ships 👀 It was such a fun chapter and change of pace, it always brings me joy. #pretendpanel #writingcommunity

Nothing has made me cry which is unusual as I cried the first time I killed off a character when I first stated writing. There’s some real emotional moments in Book 3 of the Chaos Chronicles though that together with the soundtrack make me real emotional. #pretendpanel #writingcommunity

It matters because it’s my passion in life. And I want to share this story of trauma and healing with people who have been in dark places and didn’t know what to do. To show people that you can heal from the horrible stuff.

Feeling really down today. I’ve hardly worked on my WIP this year at all. It feels like my health is getting worse and my mental state is just awful as well. I’m really upset I’ve hardly got any writing done. Every day feels like a struggle.
