Our goal has always been to focus on the positive and the good. But the truth is that there are thousands of people in Gaza and Palestine suffering and dying everyday, and everything being reported from there, on social media and news outlets terrifies me. (🖍️ by @solusens.bsky.social)

But we didn't give up. Armed with a gorgeous image by @harecygnus.bsky.social and some help from friends and connections, we finally launched @seagamesforgood.bsky.social and Play for Peace. Today, we have so many wonderful submissions from devs all over the world, incl. those from SE Asia.

I've spent the last 8 - 9 months planning this charity, and several months trying to reach out to Itch and UNRWA USA. Early on, a lot of my emails and DMs to people went unreplied. Aside from encouragement from friends and loved ones, making this happen was tough.

Over the weekend, I finally finished Afterlove EP by Pikselnesia. It's a beautiful game that deals so well with the messiness and flawed nature of human beings, struggling to connect with one another through grief, trauma and things said and unsaid.

This was made ever more poignant thanks to @soyacomu.bsky.social's art and the team's game direction which was really gorgeous throughout, and captured the emotions felt and the spaces inhabited by the characters and player alike.
