Google invented a society improving thing and admitted right off the bat that accepting advertising for it would be like drinking poison. The problem was, rather than skipping out on drinking poison, they asked how much poison they could drink while still being somewhat functional.

A quick note on privacy. You care about it, and so does our weird little site. Our logs are off—and we plan to keep it that way. In terms of standard Web analytics, we use a self-hosted instance of Plausible, a privacy-focused tool that only presents data in aggregate. plausible.io/privacy-focu...
