CPR - CPR. David Crosby's late career renaissance really kicked off with this, the first of several albums he recorded with guitarist Jeff Pevar and keyboardist/vocalist James Raymond (Crosby's son). His voice is as good as ever, and the band is superb. He didn't put a foot wrong after this.

Elder - The Gold and Silver Sessions. On this mini album, the band cuts back on the heaviosity and concentrates on the psychedelic jamming. Good stuff.

The Psychedelic Furs - Forever Now. Their excellent third album, full of great songs. Production by Todd Rundgren, backing vocals by Flo and Eddie.

Lloyd McNeill Quartet - Washington Suite. Lovely album, this. Spiritual jazz with McNeill's flute and Eugene Rush's electric piano to the fore. Drummer Eric Gravatt would go on to play with Weather Report.

Last night, I dreamt that Adrian Chiles opened up a record shop on Bromley High Street. There wasn't much stock, and I didn't recognise any of the records. He offered me a cup of tea, but I couldn't stop as I was meeting my wife in Lidl.

"Titillating orchestrations for living and loving." First play for this charity shop find from a few months back. Very pleasant. According to the sleeve notes, Sun Ra was a big fan.

Don Ellis - At Fillmore. Awesome big band jazz-rock from 1970. If you like Grand Wazoo era Zappa, you'll probably like this. Indeed, drummer Ralph Humprey went on to play with Zappa.

Good afternoon. This is a very nice Robin Trower compilation, though for some reason, it doesn't include anything from Twice Removed From Yesterday.

Good evening. Just got back from the Magic Circle where we watched some magicians do magic type things. Very entertaining. Now for some Bruce.

I must confess I do find it very hard to resist a good jazz bargain. I've been losing myself in these beauties today.

Big Star - Keep An Eye On The Sky. An excellent box set crammed full of classics, demos, alternates, and live tracks. Picked this up at a record fair for a tenner a few years back, which is my definition of a bargain.
