Donkey Kong 64 contains an extremely bizarre unused animation of Donkey Kong floating awkwardly in mid-air. The demo version reveals what the animation was meant to look like, with him undulating wildly during it, which is equally bizarre and unexplained.

With the steam autumn sale going on, there's one game I recommend HEAVY which is CrossCode. At six bucks it's an absolute steal and it's worth 2-3x that price. Stunning pixel art style, super fun combat mechanics, gripping characters, it's got it all. Probably one of my GOATed games of all time.

In the hidden sound test in the GBA version of Donkey Kong Country, Donkey Kong dances at different speeds for each track, mostly befitting the tone of the music. An exception is the peaceful Aquatic Ambiance track, for which Donkey Kong dances unexpectedly energetically.

In New Super Mario Bros., Mario cannot use a Mega Mushroom in Toad Houses. Assuming the Mega Mario form in these locations reveals that the special Question Blocks cannot be destroyed by it, and instead create a very peculiar infinite particle effect.

In the Nintendo Switch version of Mario vs. Donkey Kong, Mario's eyes are modeled separately from his head. In his default pose (T-pose), the eyes are misaligned with the head, bulging out severely. This is how the designers would have constantly seen Mario during development.
