Last week, we attended the memorial dedication in honor of fallen SPD Officer Joselito “Lito” Barber, killed in the line of duty on 8/13/06. The event took place at the Filipino Community Center (FCC), where the memorial, a granite badge adorned with Lito’s serial number – 6897 – permanently rests.

This was a powerful opportunity to reflect on the incredible sacrifices made by our country's Japanese American veterans & honor their extensive legacy of service.
