There’s a group of older (white haired) folks at the table next to me and they’ve ordered a round of mimosas. One of them just said to the other “we should count how many drinks we have on this trip” and they all laughed. Gleeful.

Being in your late 30s is sitting alone in a restaurant and realizing that at no point did you feel self conscious about eating at a restaurant alone.

I have basically given up finding a job in games at this point. I am working outside of games, making half of what I made working in games, doing a thing that fits my skill set but is not nearly as fulfilling as games and I assume I will just be doing this for a long long while.

Yet another "global" company with a remote job has told me they can't hire people in Saskatchewan. This is neither global, nor remote.

The past week or so I've been declined for more than one job that I had direct referrals for. I don't even know what to do anymore.

If anyone's curious what the job market is like right now, I just got declined for a job to which I had FOUR separate personal referrals. Now taking suggestions for how to earn money without a real job because.....this is absurd.
