Working on Qifrey when I’ve got extra energy before bed. Coloring him in a new (to me) way, I’m basically only using one super grainy watercolor brush. Texture is one of my favorite aspects of art so it’s been very satisfying so far. It’s nice to try something new from time to time.

I know I keep talking about it and not doing it but I think I’m finally ready to start on the colors layers of the Qifrey piece! I keep pursuing the “perfect lines” to cut down on corrections later but all my pieces constantly evolve so there’s really no point is there lol.

I always see artists asking about how to approach other artists to start projects/become friends so now I’d like to ask, how have y’all been approaching art trades? Is everyone you trade w/ a friend? Do people “open for trades”? Have you approached an artist without ever having talked to them b4?

I keep forgetting and remembering my big Qifrey piece. Will it be done before the premier? 😬 I think I’m gonna struggle with it since the story and character have come to mean so much to me. That being said I’d still like to try to finish it before the premier 🩵

I wish procreate had a tool to change the thickness of lines. I know you can kind of cheat them to be thicker but it’s a bit clumsy and imprecise.

Getting back to work on the big Qifrey piece for a few days. Last time I worked on what I thought would be my final line layer but I’ve noticed a lot of things that needed fixing and added a couple new details so it’s time to do final lines again 😮‍💨

Looked at a bunch of fashion this morning & its making me want to revisit drawing a new base for Elva for fashion reasons. I made the mistake of making her first full body ref pose be a little compressed & I’d like a different pose option. I’m just not sure what the best way to go about this is yet🤔

The “work on a small piece as a little warmup before working on bigger pieces” has backfired 😀. Spent all day working on the small one as a way to avoid the big one…

Possibly starting a Lae’zel portrait tomorrow. She’ll be something I can warm up with daily before getting back to work on the big Qifrey piece ☺️

Decided to attempt to push through with a smaller piece instead of getting back to work on Qifrey. Qifrey is one of my bigger pieces & it’s been in the rough lines stage for ages. I’m still not sure what it’s going to look like & I don’t think jumping back into it now would be very smart lol.

I keep rapidly bouncing back and forth between feeling very inspired and feeling deeply art blocked. Usually there’s a much larger amount of time between these two feelings, maybe I’m pushing it too hard?? 😓 How frustrating.
