Met up with a friend over from Canada, on business. No matter where we go she attracts men. We were outside a pub in central London, while she finished her cig, and three men started chatting. All I had to do was mention my husband is from Croydon, the men scarpered. I am a c*ckblock 🙌

I can’t remember the last time I bought a “brand new” article of clothing. I love a charity shop & hand me downs from Matt. My new favourite hobby is mending old clothes badly. It all started with a discarded expensive jumper from Matt’s closet - two holes, then covering paint marks with patches.

Took out recycling to bin. Walked along path passed our neighbours’ house, when I saw a Robin on ground - started chatting with them. Only to THEN notice neighbour was smoking on steps. I embarrassingly confessed I was talking to bird “like a weirdo”. He replied kindly, “I talk to birds too”. 💚

Chilly, wet day. Loads of pigeons came to feed. Naughty (on my shoulder), is so comfortable with me now that when she’s full up, she will simply cuddle into my neck - she even did the pigeon feather shake at one point. The other pigeon in foreground, followed me ALL the way onto High Street.

Rotting windows getting installed, while suffering a chest infection / allergies this whole week… Finally feeling human today, so went to see park pigeons - Naughty was pleased 🐦💜💚

It’s so strange visiting a friend who has a well insulated flat. I wore what I normally do - base layer, long johns, double socks, waffle jumper, and hat… I WAS BOILING!!! They were in a t-shirt and baggy trousers, while their partner in a dress. 😅

I have been wanting a large studio in which to simply… go mad. This sort of opportunity happened tonight. Our decrepit windows have started to be replaced. They made a mistake on one… My canvas for the next couple weeks.

Naughty, has finally accepted Matt into the flock 🐦 I think she thought his empty tinnie of water in his right hand were “special” treats. He’s well chuffed 💜

The world feels heavy. So I made a random cold batch meal of: Chickpeas Lentils Sweet corn Black beans Cannellini beans Boiled new potatoes (chilled) Coriander Olive oil Pepper Salt New favourite - at least for this week 🌱😋💚

Public Service Announcement: Please check any “old” sweets before eating. Matt ate two expired (October 2025) Fruit Salad sweets when clearing out his desk. Despite the first one tasting / being a “weird texture”, he had a second - resulting in food poisoning (not too serious… but not nice) 🍬❌🤢

I wanted to make vegan chilli for dinner tonight. Matt then said one of our friends is popping round tomorrow to help with some DIY, so could I make extra for him. I may have over estimated… We’re gonna need a bigger pot 😂

Our friend is going through absolute hell with his cancer treatment, fevers, and pain. He was admitted to Royal Marsden yesterday - not sure how long he’ll be there. He’s been eloquently vocal about his / family’s struggles. Was reading last night - these hit.

Matt’s sister, recently lost her cat in a traumatic way. The family LOVED her sooo much. She has asked me to paint her. I’m practicing on other cats… I DON’T do commissions - other for family / friends.

Our friend is not doing well. We had a call before going out to see friends. Matt and I, had an emotional conversation. It was difficult “being happy” with them. But it was a good night. This poem kept going through my head, by Clive James.

My friend Claire, was diagnosed with cancer on same day as Matt. Her cancer was far more aggressive. Died 7mth later. Claire & Emma, kept us all in the know. Even when they pushed their wedding ahead, I thought Claire would live. I know better now & am making arrangements to help current friend.

I was having a private moment, when I heard a clatter above my head. Toilet perverts 🐦🚽🐦

I heard a flutter at our window, and our little Splash is here. It’s worrying, as it’s late & very dark. She looks alright. It’s odd for any pigeon to be here this late in the evening. She’s eating… maybe had a Crimbo Party and needs snacks. (Please excuse the state of our windows).

We have suspected Matt might be AuDHD for some time. I just popped into second bedroom for something and noticed this… We bought this big box two months ago so he can store his woolly jumpers, safe from clothes moths. And yes… those are some of his maps. I think this is fairly conclusive 😅

It’s so stupid. I’ve already had a friend who passed from an aggressive cancer. I honestly, believed they would live. They did not. Breathe…

Annoyingly, I can’t find my chemo cookbook. These are for my friend’s partner.
