hello! I haven't posted in a while - been finding it hard to feel academic and cool when I'm now 1.5 years post-phd and feel like the only person I know not making any progress, stuck in a job I dislike, can't get myself to write, etc.

Real question, how does anyone have the energy to even put themselves on the academic job market or write publications after the PhD... It's been 1.5 years and I still can't get out of bed

Hadn't heard back from a job and turns out they waited until Leverhulme day to send out their rejections which is a choice

Was kinda hopeful for 2025 but the chronic health issue I've been dealing with since May 2023 has officially been closed as a chronic pain condition (atypical odontalgia as a result of nerve damage) so not feeling that hopeful anymore tbh
