It was an inspiring evening celebrating remarkable women who continue to make a difference every day.

It was an honour to join the Pearson Centre at the 2026 Laureate Dinner and reception, honouring Hon. Dr. Jean Augustine, the first Black woman elected to the House of Commons and to sit as a federal Cabinet Minister. A well deserved honour for a trailblazer in Canadian politics.

As co-chair and founder of the new all-party Veterans Friendship group, we hosted Senator Hassan Yussuff to discuss his Bill S-246 on Wartime Service designation. We also heard from Vice President of the Persian Gulf Veterans, Mike McGlennon on why recognizing modern war service matters to veterans.

What a beautiful day for the Woodpark Common Ground Community Garden spring potluck. It’s not just a fun recreational space but it also addresses important issues of climate change, food insecurity and building community. A good example of how under-utilized NCC land can be used to meet local needs.

A milestone achievement for @NepeanHousing - the grand opening of 20 Dunbar Court. With over $4 million in federal funding. I was honoured to speak along with Diana Fox Carney. With large windows, solar panels, net zero ready, and spaces for people with disabilities, this 31 unit complex is a model!

Despite the rain, my team and I were out #CleaningTheCapital at Copeland Park this morning, followed by knocking on doors to hear the priorities of constituents for our @ownfla.bsky.social #DayOfAction. I enjoyed so many interesting conversations. Thanks to the fantastic volunteers who helped out!

I joined the 75th anniversary of the Jewish Community Centre of Ottawa. We heard heartwarming stories and nostalgic memories of dances, children’s camps, friendships and marriages that began at the Centre. The evening was testament to this generous & thriving community in our city. Congratulations!

Youth Councils are a vital part of the work we do as MP’s. It helps us to stay in touch with the priorities of young people, and for the youth they learn new skills. Like the debate between students from my youth council and those from @jenna.sudds riding. I loved watching their confidence grow.

We cut the ribbon on the Salus Capilano housing project for older adults with complex needs, with $18.2 million federal funding. For many of the residents I spoke to, this is their first real home. With wrap-around supports, these units are more than just a roof, we’re building communities! #OttWN

A beautiful day to take my mom to the Tulip Festival to meet Princess Margriet of the Netherlands. My mom was born in 1945 into a newly liberated country because of the Canadian soldiers who fought for our freedom. Today was deeply moving. I was so inspired by the amazing women I met at the Leading Ladies Canada International Women’s Leadership gala on Parliament Hill. The objectives were to advance anti-racism, ethnocultural diversity & inclusion. I was honoured to be the keynote speaker and to join a panel with other elected women.

I spoke in the House of Commons to recognize the important work of Ottawa Stray Cat Rescue. This 100% volunteer-run organization rescues cats, cares for them through foster homes and helps them find safe loving families. Each year they save over 750 cats. I adopted my own little Coco through OSCatR.

Yesterday I joined the Belltown Neighbours Association for the spring cleaning the capital and BBQ. With sandbags and equipment all around us, I had good conversations about how the federal government could help to protect the NCC pathway, homes and recreational infrastructure from future floods.

Today, I joined the Prime Minister of Canada to mark a major step forward Build Canada Homes is moving ahead with eight new affordable housing projects, bringing over 1,100 new homes to communities across the Ottawa.

Today, I welcomed Hana Fatima to Parliament Hill following her historic recognition as the youngest recipient of the Meritorious Service Medal. At just 14, she’s already supported over 15,000 seniors through her Good Neighbour Projecttruly inspiring ! Congratulations, Hana!
