Yes and equally, when Generative AI "creates" an image, song, or video, it makes something it assumes represents that thing. Which as a consequence creates souless, obvious, boring, repetitive, slop with zero perspective or value.

What many get wrong about XR (VR, MR/AR) is that any one aspect of it set to disappear. In the "pan-ultimate XR wearable", the distinction between VR, MR/AR will be a gradient of experience based on user preference. Each modality will become MORE important, not less. The how & when are footnotes.

People...its simple: 1. There's only 2 modalities; VR & AR (MR will be thrown away when devices lose that distinction). 2. Reality is malleable, users will move between these 2 modalities based on wants/needs in-the-moment. 3. Both are complimentary mediums, one no less important than the other.

"Augments" won't really be a thing until we're wearing all-day peripherals (or close to it). And even then, as utilitarian/necessary spatial widgets are for MR/AR, they just aren't that sexy imho.

9 days ago my family (& 2 sets of grandparents) evacuated due to wildfire. It was a deeply destabilizing & humbling experience. The return order came yesterday. Grateful to the fire fighters in ways I can't describe. In the midst of that we went to NIN! Thanks to Trent Reznor & NIN for the levity.

Real-talk; AI doesn't have "perspective", therefor its for-profit dataset outputs are inherently based on skilled human inputs. There are potential ways to reparate & move forward ethically but it needs to happen before AGI or ASI gain that "perspective". After that core human purpose is threatened.
