Ashley snapped this pic of Orren and I at the Como Planetarium last night. It was such a cool experience! We learned about how NASA is searching for signs of life in our universe and everyone there was so kind and welcoming to our kids. How awesome is it that we have a planetarium in SPPS??

I successfully defended my prospectus today! Next up is IRB approval, conducting my proposed study, and writing my dissertation. Let's go!

I'm hanging out with some great DFLers at the SD67 convention. We re-endorsed our awesome commissioner and state legislators. I'm reminding folks not to forget about the school board! Our convention is on April 26th at Humboldt High.

Team Uriah is calling delegates to the DFL Senate District Conventions! To become a delegate to the Saint Paul DFL Convention, you need to attend your SD convention and get elected a delegate to the Congressional District convention. CD delegates are automatically delegates to the City Convention.

One of the Saint Paul School Board's BIGG goals focuses on improving student achievement in civics. We want to see at least 90% of students passing civics classes by 2029. We've already seen some movement! We increased from 84% to 88%, just 2% away from our goal!

The MN DFL held their convocation yesterday. I wasn't there because of the School Board budget session, but my fellow elected DFLers made me a representative to the State Central Committee as well as a Super Delegate. So grateful for their support and excited to get more involved in the state party!

Operation Metro Surge is negatively impacting the Saint Paul Public Schools budget. These are dollars that we will no longer be able to spend to improve outcomes for our students.

Our school board always presses our administration to cut administrative costs as much as possible while cutting the services that directly interact with students as little as possible. As a result, our administrative costs are regularly lower than that of our peer school districts.

Just so we're totally clear, ICE is not allowed on SPPS property without a judicial warrant. They can't come into our buildings. They can't use our parking lots. They can't access our playgrounds. Trespassing will not be permitted.

SPPS IS STAYING OPEN. Folks are asking if SPPS will follow MPS in closing for the rest of the week. The plan is to remain open -- school is the safest place for most of our kids during the day.
