Last night, I started reading Legend in the Mists. I really enjoyed the first fifty or so pages talking about how to play the game. I still just over 400 pages to read to finish reading the game, and I am looking forward to it.

I know there are good doctors out there, but it still really sucks when you hit a bad one.

So, I have a first finished attempt at a book sleeve and dice tray for the project i have been working on. It was a pita to make the way I ended up, and the corners on it bug me. But I think I can iterate on this to make it easier to make with time.

So last night, I finished a prototype of my gaming kit in a lightweight muslin. The only things it doesn't have are the velcro closure for the dice pocket and something to tie it closed. Now, I need to get some supplies like a heavy canvas for the outside, sew on velcro, and maybe some foam.

I'm very happy to hear this! I have missed Saving Throw Show over the last couple of years. There's not much I can do to help other than try to boost it.

This is a picture of all the bits of quilted t-shirt sections that I have put together so far. At some point, I need to decide on a shape and size and cut all of these accordingly.

It's the weekend, so back to working on my gaming supply transport idea. This is possibly the closest I have gotten to getting it made. It is still the wrong size, but it is pretty close, and there is one bad cut on one side. I'm still trying to figure out the best order of stitching.

Today's t-shirt Quilting sewing machine practice. This piece is about the same size as the last one that took two days to put together. I made fewer tangled stitches, so that is improvement.

Since I haven't had the time to work on a project that is complicated for me, I have been working on quilting some old t-shirts of mine. These are the pictures from yesterday and today

Day two of sewing, new things that I learned today, I need to add more seam allowances and to do a 90 degree turn while sewing. I still need to work on the order of operations for construction. I also learned more about what the base pattern needs to look like.

So this is part of a mock-up of something that has been in my head for a while. First time using a sewing machine, learning to thread needles, load bobbins, and replace a broken needle. Next, a better way to cut the fabric fabric straighter, a better order to do the steps and the rest of the idea

I just got back from an annual doctor checkup, nothing much is going on, but i did talk to them about being anxious and depressed. I know what i am feeling isn't nearly as much as others, but they suggested I add something creative to my current exercise routine.

My wife has been obsessed with the idea of doing a temperature blanket this year, and it is reminding me of something I read for D&D in the 90s about alternate forms of spell books which is making me think about encoding language in fabric and what that would look like. 1/2

I have added Rosetta Stone to Duolingo for learning Spanish. I am finding that they do different things well, so I hope they will work well together. I will say that Duolingo seems to have gone down in quality over the time that I have used it. #Learning_Spanish

Over the last several days, I have been reading Scions of the Dark Goddess by Shadow Lands. Visually, it is quite different from other Call of Cthulhu scenarios that I have read. I don't know if that is because it is set in the modern era or if this is the publishers style, but I do like it.

I just posted my latest year in review on my Wordpress blog, the blog itself has basically withered over the last three years since I haven't been playing RPGs. This year I want to get back to writing, not necessarily just session recaps. I also want to continue getting exercise, reading.

Over the last month or so, I have been reading books on the history of Mexico, and on the Nahuas. I have been enjoying learning more about Mexico. Unfortunately my education on Mexico has been sorely lacking because America/ racism. With one book left to be read, I have also a list to continue.

We are down to the last couple of days of the year, can I squeak another book into my list of books that I have read this year?

It took me until today to remember that I posted this before the CEO murder. I am not sure how I feel about that realization.

Last night, while reading Indigenous Science & Technology: Nahuas and the world Around Them, I stumbled upon the nahuatal word "teucujtlatl" which is translated as gold, but literally means God's excrement. I am going to be thinking about that for a while.

So today, I have finished reading Rapscallion. One book off my list, three more added. I need more time off to read otherwise I will never get caught up.

I have been reading La Capital the Biography of Mexico City that was published in 1986. It has been good, but also dated. Especially the information and the native tribes. Does anyone have suggestions about good, more recently published histories of Mexico. #history #Mexico

Last night, I started my next book La Capital the Biography of Mexico City. It is supposed to start with the pre Aztec (Mexica) to modern times. This is an older book from the 1988, so it is almost 40 years old in what it covers, but it did sound interesting so I figured I would at least try it.

I have been reading Masks of Nyarlathotep in large part to some streams on The Caylx. And while I don't particularly like the Call of Cthulhu as a system, I am getting inspired by pipe dream campaign ideas around it. Why are these ideas pipe dreams? Because of commitment constraints.

I ordered a book on the History of Arizona and New Mexico, last week, and today when I picked it up to start reading because I finished my last book, I realized that I hadn't examined it when it arrived and found it was mis-print/mis-bound.

Things I learned removing tweets from Twitter: 1. What a pain in the a$$. 2. I used to express my frustration with Republicans a lot more. Now I'm just resigned to them being criminals. 3. I used to watch a lot of Twitch streams. I miss so many of them now. And using that time to paint miniatures.

Just went through and deleted all my tweets. It was interesting seeing how much more active I was there in the before times. I don't know that I will kill the account, but no, they don't get to train AI on my posts.

I started reading "Forced to Abandon Our Fields". It has been infuriating reading about the Pima going from self-sufficient to not because the US government encouraging settlement, and the settlers cutting off water to the Pima. What's worse is the consequences were warned about and ignored.

Last night I started reading Spectral Edition: Ghost Reports from U.S. Newspapers 1865 - 1917. Lots of good inspiration for Deadlands scenarios in there.

Reading The Wildsea expansion Storm & Root, I am reminded both of how much I like the setting and how much I dislike the layout of the book. The issue for me is that it the book is laid out in landscape with two or three columns of small text like a coffee table book. It looks nice, but ugh.

I have started reading Bump in the Dark, which is something of a cross between Blades in the Dark and Monster of the Week. Whenever I read something like this, I want to set something like this, but in some of the more rural areas of Arizona.

I finished reading Orbital Blues Afterburn today. I really enjoyed the writing and layout of the book.

Last night, I dreamed that D&D moved from hit points to wounds and thought "great now I have to get the new books to check out what they did." I am pretty glad it was just a dream, and I don't have to add it somewhere to my reading list.
