I've been working on a re-arranged version of A Single Step's chorus to feature in a YouTube video which would be a completely new style to anything I've done on there before. Hopefully, maybe coming soon... 😂

After 2.5 years of owning my blue Ibanez, and finding tones that I loved but not really understanding what was happening to create them, I finally actually know what is going on behind the scenes with the electronics and WHY it sounds that way. This could be a game changer!

It was nice to be out on the roads on the bike today, after a Winter on the indoor trainer, but GOOD GRIEF ALMIGHTY was it cold 😂 Hours later I'm still not sure I've warmed back up. Might have to revise practice plans for this evening 😝

I never shared the story behind Inspiration! I went to see the SatchVai tour in London last Summer (seeing them play together being a lifelong dream) on the Saturday. On Sunday I had the germ of the idea, and wrote most of the track. By the next weekend it was fully written. Hence "Inspiration"!

Almost a year ago I wrote a track which, uncharacteristically for me, featured vocals. It still hasn't released because I still haven't recorded the vocals, because 11 months on I'm still not happy with how I sound doing them. So much for pushing outside my comfort zone 😂

Been getting the hang of the Ardour DAW and using Ubuntu Studio as an OS. Recorded in a cover of Ten Words by Joe Satriani. I think for a first project in a new DAW on a new OS it sounds pretty good!

Can't believe that Channel 5 Superbowl coverage has decided we'd rather watch people talk in a studio than Greenday 😠 Nothing against the presenters, but... Guys. Cut to the damn band

Finally pushed through my fear of admin to get my tracks submitted to some new places. Feels nice to not have the "to-do" weighing on me any more lol!

Went to a new year's jam session today, picked out which superstrat to take to help kick 2026 off with a bang. It was an acoustic song-circle kind of jam session 😂

Happy new year everyone! 2025 was brutal in many ways, especially the end, but I released music and made some great contacts, & discovered their music and art. 2026 will have more releases from me - both further singles and (for those who have been waiting impatiently for years) an album! Let's go!

After today I can *technically* say that I've been recognised in public for my music. The reality is that it's someone who used to frequent the same jam night as me, around ten years ago. But I did music there, and they recognised me, so there we go 😂

24 years ago I received my first electric guitar. A green, Squier Strat. That was the instrument I learned so much on. This evening I played on it once again (as I still sometimes do!) and reflected on how far we've come together. That guitar means so much to me, and has had such an impact on me.

I watched the 2019 version of Cats the other night and... controversial I know but I didn't hate it! I'll admit it took a few minutes to adjust to the human/cat hybrid thing. But after that, the songs were performed well and the choreography was interesting to watch (in my humble, ignorant opinion!)

Okay, real talk: I honestly think as many of our Blue Sky artists as possible should sign up for this, even though I'm not really associated with this radio project. The reason for that is very simple: @untidymusic.com is one of the people here that cares the most about the "local" music community.

As is the way with creativity, I came away from Saturday's concert inspired and set to work channeling that inspiration. And what has come out bears no relation to the thing that inspired it 😂

Just watched SatchVai band in London. As the two of them playing on a G3 CD was what inspired me to take guitar seriously, and therefore influenced the course of my life, it was a very emotive evening. And it goes without saying, the playing was phenomenal!

Took a photo of my main instrument the other day before playing a festival slot. Got some videos too, so they will be coming soon!

Been writing my next single. This one is a step outside my comfort zone by including vocals... Already had one trip up where I had to rewrite the backing into a key I can actually sing in - that's not a problem you encounter with instrumentals 😂
