There were words again today. I don't know how long my streak will continue but I'm enjoying it while it lasts. I've got a couple of characters, some world building going, and I think I'm standing on the edges of a plot thread! Quite promising. #amwriting

I haven't gotten a lot of writing in but I've gotten a lot of thinking about it in while I was helping my grandmother prep for holiday stuff. Little world building thoughts that might never make it into the book but that I need to know to write it. Progress is progress. #amwriting (sort of)

Yesterday ended up being awesome. All my anxiety for nothing (as is usually the case, I guess). it was actually my most successful market to date. If I could get past the difficulty driving in cities anxiety thing, I could probably make a real go of the whole pop up/market/event vendor business.

My late father loved thanksgiving - not for historical value or anything, just because food was his love language and getting to share it with family and friends mattered to him. He was that guy, the one who pulled anyone and everyone who didn't have somewhere to go on the day. I miss him a lot.

My town is having a disability awareness and independence week. There was an art show Monday, events Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and today is a poetry afternoon. I'm here with poems, just in case. Not really good at reading in personbut, I have it just in case.

I made a gnat away spray for market day today. I can see them in other booths, but there have been way way fewer in mine this week. I'll take that as a win.

Found my favorite ever teacher on social media. It seems an inactive account but I don't care overmuch. Got to write the thank you letter I should have written in high school. He made the awful years a bit brighter. If he sees it, super yay. If not, I put those words out into the universe anyway.

My patchouli is looking pretty happy today. I started her from a seed about 4 years ago, and we had a bit of a struggle along the way, but she loves her new pot (with proper drainage). I know she's not everyone's cuppa but I love her.

It's hot and muggy at the market on doing today but I got to deliver the special order wreath I did so I'm happy. I don't get to make them often as they are miserable to ship.

I had such a strange color journey with my last soap. The oils started a beautiful deep red color due to the use of St. Johns Wort infused olive oil. As soon as I added my lye water, it turned this tmnt ooze neon green. On cut, it's now vaguely greenish. I have no idea how the color will cure.

I went to a poetry symposium in my little town last night, turned out to be a memorial (I was not expecting that). A little odd at first, but I'm glad I went. If half as many people give a damn when I die, especially in verse, I'll consider that a successful life. #poetry

I think my mama crow might already be sitting on a nest. Seems early but her partner in crime is picking up crackers and nuts and flying away instead of eating here. Pretty sure they are also roosting lower on the hill this year too. I dug know what any of it means, just noticing.

My internet break might be over but I am still cutting my internet time back. I keep up on what's happening because it's important. I do my emails and calls even though my reps will never care. But my mental health is better off-line. So there is writing and making and painting instead.

Prepping for upcoming markets. Whipping up marshmallow root herbal lip salves in lemon balm and peppermint. I'd like to be using paperboard or tins but people in my area really prefer to buy the plastic tubes. It's just about the only plastic I can't seem to get away from.

First run at a new soap today. Irish sea moss and Celtics sea salt. No scent, no color. Simple soap. #soap #soapmaking

I took a bit of an internet break to do some travelling with my husband for our 25th. It was definitely a needed break. The world is still scary and cruel, but I also needed the reminder that there are amazing things out there to see and learn. And to eat. Now, it's back to work.
