P6 are ready for the annual LHS Multilingual Nativity! 🥳

So, after he rudely interrupted the P4-7 concert practise on Monday, Twinkletoes has decided to turn over a new leaf! We’ll see how long this lasts.

👮‍♂️ 🧑‍🚒 👩‍⚕️ P1 & P2/1 are interested in learning about the world of work. The pupils came up with a range of occupations/questions they’d like to explore and have had lots of fun driving their learning forward. So far they have made badges, posters and even designed and created their own wall display.

What number comes before 10? 🤔💡 Primary 1 have been working hard on their numbers to 10 and beyond 🌟. They have been thinking about numbers before, after & in-between and playing lots of different games to build their knowledge, understanding and skills.

A visit from Karen @nhsforthvalley today to help us learn about the correct way to brush our teeth.

P4 had great fun using a variety of Meta-skills at P.P.I.

P7 have been exploring their new 'Table Tasks' as part of their DIY day today. These included model making, a thinking station, and problem solving tasks.

P7s made 'quick cheat' mini Angel Delight cheesecakes, then used what they'd learned about imperative verbs to write the recipe card.

P7s have been focusing on various problem solving strategies and are getting better at selecting which one helps best with certain questions 🤔💭

P6 are finishing their writing from their live lesson yesterday and using their descriptive sentences to generate and edit illustrative images on Adobe Express. Some creative results! 🤗

HE'S BACK!!!!! Twinkletoes has returned from the North Pole and interrupted our concert rehearsal this afternoon. Mrs Reynolds was not very happy. Looks like we're in for another month of mayhem at Carronshore Primary!

🎄✨ Primary 2 got a big surprise this morning when Jingle the Elf arrived in our classroom! He made a cheeky mess with toilet roll, but he did leave us a lovely Advent calendar to count down to Christmas🎅📅. Here’s hoping he behaves himself over the next few days 😅🧻✨!

Happy Saint Andrew’s Day 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿. On Friday these children learned about St Andrew’s Day and the Scottish flag. We then tried some shortbread and Irn Bru and gave some traditional Scottish dances a go 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 💃🕺. Super effort everyone✨.

P2 & 3 were super busy during PPI time! ✨ 📿 We showed resilience making bracelets, 🏎️ explored forces on our race track, 🐾 built pet hotels, 🏠 made houses in the construction area, ☕ and even ran a café in the home corner! #MetaSkillsInAction 🌟

A variety of activities being worked on in P6. Some pupils have chosen to complete their maths task in the senior area. Some are working on a group task and others have extended the den to use it as a quiet space to work. We are always thinking about what we need to work best. Well done P6!

These girls have chosen to teach each other maths concepts, that they have learned, through role play. Their discussions are detailed and the teacher is doing a great job of explaining fraction rules to her only student! 🤗

P1 stay & play: It was lovely to have so many of our families join us today to find out about our progress in phonics and reading. We loved 'being the teacher' and showing our families all the fun games and activities that support us to read our sounds and words.

P2 and P3 had a blast during PPI time this week! ✨ We measured how far our paper planes could travel, practised our sewing skills, and even looked after babies. We carefully measured out their food so we didn’t give them too much or too little. 💛✈️🧵🍼 #LearningThroughPlay #MetaSkillsInAction

This morning for BEE time we worked together to bake banana cupcakes 🧁. We had to measure out the ingredients accurately. Then we safely chopped the banana into small pieces and mixed all our ingredients together. Finally the children divided the mixture equally between 12. Well done everyone 👏!

We have enjoyed exploring the drum kit again this week. We've been learning how to keep the beat using the different drum pads too. 🥁 I can see Carronshore's first ever boy band in the future ⭐

We enjoyed a visit to Cineworld this morning to see Garfield as part of the @intofilmscotland.bsky.social festival. We all had a great time! Thanks @mrsg-ewo-cps.bsky.social for driving some of us there on the minibus 😁.

This morning at assembly some of our p6 pupils acted out scenarios for anti-bullying week -we analysed and discussed each scene to decide if it was bullying or not 🐝

Well done and thank you to these pupils who represented us on Sunday at the Carronshore war memorial 🐝

We made poppies today using paper,foam sheets and dried rice for the seeds.

Far too wet for our cross country club and football team to be outdoors today. We merged them and played dodge ball before testing their fitness with the dreaded bleep test. Group 1 got to level 10 and group 2 level 8. Well done boys and girls. @carronshoreprimary.bsky.social 🐝

A lot of skills being used for some of the senior area design tasks. P6 pupils are planning, collaborating, testing, evaluating, discussing...the list goes on😅

Off to a flying start for our DIY dayin P6. We are focusing on our learning styles and time management skills today. We are asking ourselves... How do we learn best? Where is the best place to work? What tasks should I do first?

"Can we have some water in the sand tray?" What started off as a pond, turned into a river. But how do we stop the sand absorbing all of the water? "We have to create a barrier" This started on Tuesday and developed as the week went on. Can't wait to see how we build on our learning next week...
