Took my car in for service yesterday. Needed to get the regular stuff taken care of (brakes, spark plugs, rotate tires, etc) but I also needed a new strut for the driver front... I hate how expensive things are...

I have absolutely no problem with events requiring masks. I just wish more folks would CHOOSE to wear a mask at large, public gatherings. Ever since Covid, I have worn a mask to every con I've attended. I haven't even caught "con crud" since.

My dad is falling apart... First the fall from his chair. Then one of his (few remaining real) teeth broke and fell out. Yesterday, he went to the dentist to get the rest of the tooth removed. And he has confused episodes where he doesnt know why he has a mouthful of gauze and will just spit it out.

Raccoons would not be nearly as cute if they didn't have thumbs. Ferrets are raccoons without thumbs. Still cute, but no silly grabby hands. Otters have the grabby hands, but no masks. So raccoons are no longer "trash pandas" to me. They are ferrotters.

I just watched David Sedaris on CBS Sunday Morning talking about dogs. But I was distracted from the story by the gratuitous use of AI generated pictures of dogs. Are there not enough photos of REAL dogs for a 5-minute story segment? Does a picture of a dog praying make the difference?

What was normally displayed on the main screen of the Enterprise when there wasn't an episode happening? Like, did they just keep it set to a forward view? Or did it have useful information displayed for the bridge crew to see?
