I tend to write gender-neutral main characters just going about their lives. Being non-binary isn't on the forefront of my mind at all times, but I choose to write characters like me partly as a form of rebellion and partly because it's easier.

WIP update: I've closed my psychosis WIP while waiting for betas to read, and I'm working on my next unrelated WIP, a Red Riding Hood reimagining. I love that I am seeing two distinct voices emerging (it's first person), and I think it's clear which is the artist and which is the writer.

I'm so excited to have the first few new eyes on my manuscript. I can't wait to see if this renovation resonates with readers.

Writing Tip: Take time to just reread your own work without trying to edit it. Just read it to enjoy it. Because that is what your readers are going to be doing. Instead of nitpicking, try not to lose focus. If you still are, that might be something a reader notices. #writing #writingtips #Booksky
