Had an incredible communal cinema experience at Sinners in IMAX 70mm last night. The theater was nearly full (at a 1am showing!), the crowd was so responsive & reactive in a way that added to the experience, it was electric in there! And we didn’t have to trash the theater to have a great time 😉

Watching Flow with my 6 & 3 year old nieces and they are completely mesmerized. Wasn’t sure if the no dialogue aspect would be a problem, but clearly not! Brilliant little movie.

Something I’ve really noticed listening to Mayhem is how impeccable Lady Gaga’s diction and enunciation is. I rarely have to look up lyrics for her, it’s all just so clear.

Anora really rewards multiple rewatches. Every time I catch new little character moments and jokes. Kind of a weird best picture winner in the best way. I really dig it!

For the longest time, I thought the Maltese Falcon was that big spaceship from Star Wars.

Wow the Companion rewatch is exceptional! Honestly almost as thrilling as the first time I saw it completely unspoiled. The writing is so clever with so much is hiding right in plain sight. And Sophie Thatcher is tremendous! Gunna be one of my year end faves for sure.

Fantastic National Touring production of & Juliet tonight! An absolute blast & must-see for any pop music fan. Such clever writing, especially how they weave these hit songs into the story. One of the best jukebox musicals, it all just works so well together! @andjulietbway.bsky.social

This album is just overflowing with Robbie bangers, including a duet with Kylie Minogue! A no skip album for me. Really enjoying going through his discography post Better Man. Sing When You’re Winning (2000)

Companion is so fun! A solid thriller that kept me guessing. Avoided the recent spoilery trailer, but watched it after & it’s just so baffling. Like, have a little creativity. You don’t need to spoil the fun surprises of the film in order to make the movie marketable. Very dumb, but loved the film!

Better Man is officially no longer playing here in Dallas. Pour some out for the musical of the year no one saw!

During the pandemic, I was a part of a virtual production of The Rocky Horror Show with a bunch of “strangers” online, so this really hit for me. Grand Theft Hamlet is an inventive, delightful documentary about the power art and community. Just wonderful!

Those first 2 records were essential, but then I kinda fell off listening until now. Stoked for this new era!
