Vancouver is dumping raw sewage into False Creek, and it's resulting in our beaches being closed due to high E. coli counts. Ken Sim and ABC have delayed the investments needed to end this practice by another 20 years. The Vancouver Liberal plan is to accelerate the investments needed.

This is a big loss for Vancouver. Both stations were a big part of my life… and so were all the people behind the coverage. I wish them all well in the next parts of their careers.

Our plan, the Vancouver Liberals' plan, is $1.35 billion for parks, pools, community centres and libraries. Ken Sim’s plan is $400 million. The difference is we will cancel the $800 million second city hall project and put those dollars towards our neighbourhoods.

Vancouver is the largest city in Canada without a ward system.

Vancouver deserves a more accountable and representative City Hall. The Vancouver Liberals will hold a referendum on a ward system in the following election, after the recommendations of a citizens' assembly.

1/ Ken Sim tried to get rid of the Park Board. He also defunded it. When Gregor Robertson was mayor, parks were 16.5% of the city budget; today it’s 7.9%. Ken Sim has also defunded assets. His plan is $400mn for pools, community centres and field upgrades. Our plan is $1.4bn.

Under a Vancouver Liberal government, we will not replace 50m pools with 25m pools. Today we are committing to a 50m pool at the Vancouver Aquatic Centre, provided shovels don’t go in the ground on this project before the election. Ken Sim, stop construction and let voters decide on October 17.
