Metal Slug 3 is a console game with a few arcade trappings that get in the way. If it had a life meter instead of one-hit kills, for example, it'd be a lot more fun to explore all the hidden stuff.

Night Raid seems pretty interesting! I've always found Takumi shooters to have neat ideas but varying design quality, so I should probably try this one! It could use some pilots designed by manga artists, though.

Interesting. Ogre Battle 64 didn't crack the top 200, and neither did Space Station Silicon Valley. Cult faves like Body Harvest and Hybrid Heaven barely made it. And there's Mischief Makers at 130, not great for a Nintendo-published game but not bad for a Treasure title. And yeah, no Charlie Blast

This one somehow feels like both an anemic tabletop RPG campaign AND a pitch for a toy line and cartoon, with the heroes all looking like action figures. It was published in 1986, so maybe it was someone's response to the secular trappings of He-Man and Dungeons & Dragons.

I love Popful Mail. I love the greedy protagonist and the goofy supporting cast and the Gaw dragons especially and nearly all the vintage-1995 Working Designs jokes and yes, even the ill-advised difficulty spikes that make you work for that scene of penguins comparing their kingdom to Euro Disney.

That's a great price for Ikaruga! It's a cool game! I don't know if it's the best shooter ever, but you should definitely say it is if you want to easily annoy hardcore shooter fans!
