revised two conference abstracts and submitted one of them. This feels like an achievement today as I've been struggling with nerve pain associated with foraminal stenosis for weeks now. Today was a good day.

Haven't posted for a while... feels a bit like screaming into the void. But pleased that I managed to submit revisions on three journal articles last week - one as sole author, one as lead author and one as co-author. In week 3 of semester, when I also delivered an international keynote. Tired now.

Was gonna say there isn't anything better as an academic than finally hitting 'submit' on a publication...then remembered there is: receiving the words 'accepted without revision' (not that I would be familiar with THAT particular feeling, LOL!). Anyhow, it still feels great to submit an article :)

Today, just over a week before flying to the UK, I have shifted out of sheer panic about giving 5 presentations on 3 topics at 2 conferences to more calm certainty that I will be able to get it done. Honestly, what kind of idiot does this to themselves?

Article accepted with minor revisions. And "minor revisions" is basically typos! It's been such a journey with this article!

When you think about all the abstracts you've written in the past month and then are quite legitimately frightened about the amount of work that will be and the intersecting timelines.

I just wrote a conference abstract I'm really pleased with. Usually I find writing them torturous but I really like this one! And now the imposter syndrome is setting in.

At our Liverpool Campus for the first time today. Seems nice! However when I asked my Google Home for the weather in Liverpool last night it gave me the results for Liverpool UK, not Liverpool, Sydney 🤣That would have been a bit far to go for one day!!!!

In a great presentation by Magda Smith from ILSC about the interplay of language, culture and identity. I LOVE that she is playing the actual voices of the non-native speakers talking about their experiences.
