Why am I so against generative AI in games? Because I simply do not want my initial reaction to art to be one of suspicion and scrutiny, AI slop is fundamentally damaging my relationship to art and artistry, and I am deeply resentful that it is forcing me to be guarded when I should be wowed.

Writing referrals is such a WEIRD thing. I referred a new author to my editor and I felt like I was a spambot the entire time. I read your work! You need help. Can I connect you with someone who can help? Bleh. Feels bad. I tried to make it as human as I could but, BLEH. Hope it helps, though.

I read 2 chapters of a book on Saturday and I am still violently upset about its quality. I've never been so angry at a book before. I WANT to calm down, I WANT to let it go. But every time I think about anything that I read I just get angry again.

Hey writers of #booksky, a quick tip: Do not, under any circumstances, put a CHARACTER GUIDE at the start of your book. I'm doing an ARC read and this author laid out every character of note at the start of the book. Great, if they're not named here, then I won't care about them. OK.

For whomever still needs to hear this: Stop using MS Office and Google Docs. Libre Office is free, it's just as good, and it won't steal your work for AI. No built-in AI bullshit trying to rewrite your work. No theft. No fees. It's on every OS out there and it's light on CPU usage.
