Somebody once recommended that I should use AI for animation to make "faster progress", arguing that it's "just a tool", like anything else in a painting program. Personally, I'd rather take years to finish my animations than rush the process and become a bad animator. #noai

I'm enjoying my time with OG Resident Evil 3, even though Nemesis is REALLY pissing me off. Still felt like sketching him inbetween sessions.

LRT + regarding using AI for placeholders in #gamedev idk why would u use an unethical algo (which also burns our planet down) and rely on its biased (and thus limited) outcome... When u could just make ur placeholder with just a mouse and old ms paint like everyone else have been doing instead?

So far I made the conclusion that level design is something you can barely plan in advance. While there is some theory to it, you still need to build and prototype insanely large quantities of stuff until you can play and really "feel" if it's good or if it's trash.

Playing the OG Resident Evil trilogy for the first time. Oh boy, have I slept on it until now. This absolutely surreal mix of mystery, 90s cheese and unintentionally hilarious moments is extremely addicting - and also quite atmospheric despite all the cheese.

Unpopular Opinion Time I always enjoyed having Cedric as a sidekick in King's Quest 5. He's memorable and adds just the right amount of charme/cheesyness to the whole game and its journey. I never played KQ5 with voice acting though lol

The db16 palette by DawnBringer - the most versatile palette I ever used! All of Owlsgards assets were done with this palette as the base. The character sprites stick to only these 16 colors, while the backgrounds use blended versions. I wonder if anyone noticed! ;D

I can honestly say that I came up with roughly 90% of Owlsgards plot and puzzles while I was going for really long walks outside. I even saw deers once!🦌 Walks are underrated!

Moving on with recreating some in-game graphics for the french and spanish version. ･ﾟ✧ CHAPTER [insert number here] ✧･ﾟ

Alright! Just finished inserting all the translated spanish text, now it's time to update every language related in-game graphic (GUI's, overworld map names, artsy cutscene text etc). Lets gooo!

I really enjoy posting these "Doom engine prerender VS final scene" thingies! I especially love this one here because of how absolutely unnecessary the prerender was, at least in hindsight. But I did it anyway - never change a running system!🙂

I used the classic Doom engine to pre-render certain backgrounds for Owlsgard. Who recognizes this scene? EASY EDITION🤓

This was my favorite bug during development. If I forgot to add one line of code at the end of a dialogue, Finn and Gwen's heads would start floating away and you could play the rest of the game with two floating heads as the player characters. Fun!
