Timezones are difficult, but combined with DST it's even more complex. Somehow the iOS #Delta app doesn't know how to correctly handle DST changes in The Netherlands during the flight (3am local time) when the arrival time has to be updated. It should be a delay, not arriving earlier...

Several hours ago the #MSExchange Team posted an update on the #SMTP AUTH Basic #Authentication timeline. To summarize: the original date of disabling the option of March 2026 is now delayed to H2 2027 for existing tenants. Newly created tenants will have to deal with this from December 2026.

I trained myself to use the UPN above the down level (samaccountname) format e.g username@domain,com vs domain\username. But there have been a few times when authentication failed because I used the wrong one. Try the other format before diving further in troubleshooting #WeekITtip #Microsoft

One #IT related observation from 2025: do not underestimate the importance of "on-premises" infra know-how. Whether it's to fully offboard to the cloud, exit from the cloud or something in between: I still find value in having years of knowledge & experience with #legacy systems. Or is it just me?

Day 19 of #ITAdvent. One other consideration of using Automatic Certificate Management Environment or #ACME is that you also need to update your #TLSA #DNS record for #DANE. This record contains the #certificate thumbprint, binding that certificate and enabling clients to check URI authenticity.

Day 17 of #ITAdvent: Get acquainted with Automatic Certificate Management Environment or #ACME. Due to coming changes in #certificate lifetime eventually be reduced to 47 days in 2029. I know orgs already struggle with 1yr... Let's also hope that software vendors are prepared for this as well.

Day 16 of #ITAdvent. In the coming months #Microsoft will roll-out Baseline Security Mode in #Microsoft365 (see #MC1193689 ). It's goal is to increase #security in a more admin friendly way. It can apply recommended settings or evaluate your current settings and whether they are at risk.

Finished a little project removing the last #MSExchange server together with flipping the Start-of-Authority of Group objects and Exchange Attributes. Had to use ADSIEdit to remove some Exchange stuff, made it a bit more interesting 🤓
