These reckless tariffs are a bad deal for southern MN. Right after Brad Finstad voted to keep these tariffs, I had a good conversation with farmers in New Ulm about how the tariffs are harming them. I promised them that a vote for Jake Johnson is a vote to end the tariffs.

Congressman Brad Finstad was the deciding vote on the bill that took over $75 billion out of rural healthcare and added an extra $75 billion to ICE's budget. Now we have rural clinics closing while an untrained militia roams our streets wreaking havoc on all of us.

It was so great to speak with 200+ folks at a chili feed in Red Wing this weekend. People braved a snowy, cold night to come out and chat about how we can invest in our local communities, rather than tearing them apart.

In his Nobel Prize lecture, Martin Luther King Jr. said that no individual or nation can be great if it does not have a concern for “the least of these.” It’s the same moral truth that scripture calls us to live out, in teachings like Matthew 25:35–40.

Nine months ago today, we launched our campaign in Fairmont. And since then, we’ve held events in all 21 counties across southern Minnesota, listening to folks about what really matters.

This illegal campaign to take over Greenland is being paid for by higher costs on our consumers, farmers, and small businesses.

The federal government just froze all SNAP funding to Minnesota. That means 450,000+ people with stories like mine now at risk of going hungry.

Earlier this evening, the Trump Administration announced that it was freezing all USDA funding to Minnesota. That includes attacking programs like SNAP, which helped my parents keep food on the table when I was growing up in Stewartville.

My thoughts on Congressman Finstad's vote against lowering health insurance costs for over 10,000 people in our district

Like so many Minnesotans, my heart is with the friends and family of Renee Nicole Good and all who are mourning today. Matthew 5:7-9 calls on us to show mercy, to be pure in heart, and to be peacemakers, not to wield power without restraint.

I’m incredibly proud to share that our campaign raised over $750,000 last year without taking a penny from corporate PACs. This only happened because YOU believed in this campaign and chipped in. Your support allows us to stay people-powered and independent, and I can’t thank you enough.

We must get corporate PACs and dark money out of our politics.

The people didn’t want this. But the corporate donors did. Guess who got their way?

I strongly disagree with Congressman Finstad’s support for these illegal attacks and regime change in Venezuela. We have to stop risking American lives and wasting taxpayer dollars on these invasions that primarily benefit military contractors and Big Oil.

As this holiday season comes to an end, I am so grateful for folks like Santa who have supported our campaign. Happy new year!
