Harry Kane had the fewest touches of any player in the first half, next to zero impact on the match, and less impact on the Irish defence than the siege of Jadotville. Then he gets out wide, puts one outrageous ball in the box, penalty, red card, 1-0, game over. Mad what quality can do.

When you think about all the defensive options England had going into the Euros, if you'd have told someone that by the end of the year the back four in a 'must-win' game would be Livramento - Walker - Geuhi - Hall they'd have... well I have no idea what they'd have done but it would felt unlikely.
