This was my first journey to the Lake District. I couldn't believe how beautiful it was! The first photo is gorgeous Derwentwater, at Keswick. The second is Lake Windermere 😍

There's a lovely little garden at Tretower. I saw my first ladybird this year, hidden amongst the flowers! 🐞

On this day in 1967, The Beatles did a photo shoot for Sgt Pepper. Probably the most famous album cover of all time! I took these photos when I visited The Beatles Story Museum in Liverpool. The second pic is Brian Epstein's coat! It's a fabulous museum!

Some pictures from inside Tretower Court. These show how it would have been in medieval times. A place much visited by Welsh poets!... Plus a giant chess set!! ♟️

After Crickhowell I travelled on to Tretower Court and Castle. A fascinating place with lots of history! The tv series A Discovery of Witches was filmed here! 🎬

This is the Bridge End Inn. On a corner, right next to the bridge, it's a lovely old pub. I wonder "how much is that doggie in the window!" 😅🐕

I like this scene of daffodils in front of the Black Mountains. Situated on the river Usk, Crickhowell holds the annual Green Man festival!

Today I had an adventure in the attractive town of Crickhowell. It has some beautiful buildings and is a very pleasant place to look around!

The blossom in the park is looking fabulous. Even the grass beneath looks pretty, with a covering of blossom snow 🌸💮🌸

This is the very picturesque village of Clovelly, in Devon. I was enjoying my birthday there! Don't think there's anywhere else like it, those cobbled streets are so steep! Beautiful place!

This was a walk I did around British Camp in the Malvern Hills. There's a story that says Elgar used to walk here. He said if you ever hear music, don't be alarmed as it'll be his ghost! Well, I heard music and then took this photo. Is that his ghostly figure on the hill! 😯

I think this is a young Blackbird! It came into my garden a couple of years ago. So sweet! 🐦

I bought this fabulous Venus flytrap at the garden centre today. Apparently it needs distilled water to survive!! This is going to be a challenge! 🤨🌿

After Solva I went on to Picton Castle! A 14th century castle that's now been renovated. It's the first time that you've been able to visit inside!

The drive to Solva takes you past Newgale beach. There's a fantastic view as you come down the hill with the whole bay spread out before you!!

This morning I'm in the pretty harbour town of Solva. The tide is in and the views are stunning!! 🌞

This is Lizard Point in Cornwall. The most southerly point on the British mainland! It's a beautiful place. Only a few buildings, the sea and nature... gorgeous! 👌

Wonderful views over the Fal estuary, at Falmouth in Cornwall. This was the last holiday I took before the Covid outbreak! The second photo was taken from my hotel window! What a view!! 🛳️⛵⚓

Good morning! ☀️ I took these photos of snowdrops when I visited Painswick Rococo Garden in the Cotswolds. They were a marvelous sight! I've never seen so many snowdrops in one place!

Statues of two great men in Aylesbury. David Bowie and Ronnie Barker both have connections to this town 🎤 🎭

I was born at the top of this street, on the left hand side. There were no speed bumps then and hardly any cars! I used to play outside until it went dark! 🤸🏼‍♀️

On Sunday, while having an early morning coffee, I saw two magpies. They were building a nest, right next to a busy road! I watched as they collected twigs then carefully weaved them into the nest. A nice view as I enjoyed my coffee ☕ 🐦

The sun is shining and I'm listening to some fabulous music 🎶 Just been to the park. The bergenias were forming a cheerful path beside the stream. The daffodils are in full bloom, and the trees are beginning to put on their own spectacular show of spring blossom! Happy day! 🌸

I love Yorkshire! I've had many happy times there. Whitby is as dramatic as it is beautiful. With its Dracula connections and Gothic abbey. Castle Howard provides a gentle day out, with its beauty and splendour! To myself and many other people it will always be Brideshead!

This glistening stream flows through Colby Gardens to the sea at Amroth. A metaphor for life's journey perhaps!

The white stone cafe at Colby Gardens has some outdoor seating. You can listen to the birds singing while having your tea and cake, which always reminds me of the children's tv show 'Hector's House'!! 🐦 The next pic is the second hand book shop 📖

Yesterday I saw my first bumblebee of the year! 🐝 Pure joy!! 😊

It's amazing what you see on a day out!... This fish sculpture is filled with plastics to show how they're destroying our sea life 🐠 I do love the colours of the pebbles on the beach 🏖️ This vintage car was parked along the seafront. What a beauty!! 🚗

It's a beautiful morning here in Amroth! This is the start (or finish) of the Pembrokeshire coast path 🚶🏼‍♀️ Just waiting for the cafe to open!! 🥐☕

Fowey, in Cornwall, is one of my favourite places. There's so much to see! I went on a fabulous boat trip, and saw Daphne du Maurier's house 'Ferryside'. The last pic shows Readymoney cove, where I went for a swim. At the time Dawn French lived in the house above the bay! 🏊‍♀️

While in Norfolk I visited the historic port town of King's Lynn ⚓ It's a very attractive town, with links to the Hanseatic League. I then moved on to Sandringham, much in the news lately!!

If you ever get the chance to go to Skomer Island, off the west coast of Wales, don't hesitate to go! It's one of the most beautiful places I've ever visited! Just look at these cute little puffins!! A magical day! 🐧
