Mistrust in institutions appears to incredibly high and this reflects an on going rejection of experts. This seems to occur primarily at a national level not a personal level. For example regulatory bodies, the BBC, scientific bodies, economists.

Common disagreements with the the assisted dying bill: 1) it is a slippery slope and will lead to more lax legislation in due course - this arguement intrinsically accepts that the principle of assisted dying is valid it is just the scope that is wrong.

Can never understand the logic of "slippery slope" arguments when we have a system where the House of Commons decides nearly everything. It's only a slippery slope if in the future the Commons changes its mind on something- which guess what, it can do at any time.
