I have followed yesterday evening the discussion at #UMass about the new translation of #Marx 's #CapitalBookI. I found it disappointing for many reasons on which I cannot elaborate on now. On somehow a separate note, a theoretical/political discussion about alternative translations could be good.

It's a pity that it was never put online this roundtable in Zagreb btw Giovanna Vertova, Michael Heinrich and yours truly. At the Subversive Festival, some years ago, we engaged in a panel discussion on issues at the intersection of gender, social reproduction, and the critique of political economy.

Though excellent, the discussion is a a never-ending, and productive, one. At Centro Gobetti, where I remember the many seminars with #NorbertoBobbio in the 1980s.

"1) we give a summary of the book. 2) we problematise some conclusions. 3) we concentrate on Mattei’s key comparison btw Britain and Italy after WWI, to draw different inferences. 4) we pull together the main themes, looking at the more recent decades and the book’s theoretical foundation."
