As summer approaches, we have quite the agenda in the next months. Among other things, we will be attending Pocket Gamer Connects Barcelona on the 15h and 16th of June. We'll have a newer version of a demo available, too!

We are adding parallax to all scenes in the game. You can see how your room in the palace looks now, including the new animation for the little bear. It's alive! You might notice an update in our GUI too. There will be a lot to show you guys in our next events.

One design challenge in our game was imagining what the frog spirit's tadpoles might look like, while still playing with the elements that characterize an adult frog (the hands, the spider elements). This little one is very special. One might even say, a frog princess.

For this labour day, we wanted to introduce you to some of the palace workers: Boloorma and Naran. It is customary to pair up veteran palace staff with newer servants, as they grow too old to do their regular duties by themselves. Happy international workers day!

A game is not complete without an icon. While there is still a long way ahead of us, we now have designs (from simplified to fully detailed) for Song of The Peacock. We hope that one day in the future, it will sit on your desktop screens, ready to launch you into a big adventure.

Among everything else, something we will be working on for the following months is a save/load system. We already have some preliminary visual of what that might look like. Each pond below is a slot and it will fill with the image of the last scene saved

The palace gardens are cared for by Batbayar, a kind man who loves children. He acts as a father figure to Kai. Younger than you but already taller, Kai is a refugee from another nation, and she is Blessed like you are. They might have something for you in the garden. #SongOfThePeacock

These frog spirits tap on their body to make music and manifest magic. The design takes inspiration in some arachnids as well.

We are working on a website for the studio, as well as some other important details for when we continue to expand our demo. Looots of writing (that we can't show you yet)

Some lore for Friday! Here is some folklore from the kingdom of Togos. A story that serves as a cautionary tale: spirits don't always help the ways we expect them to, or in ways we like. This is completely bonus information, as a mention of it barely appears in game.

The uniform for the royal guard is designed with form over function, showing the insignia and the colours of your house. This is one of the characters you can approach in the patio, as she guards the doors to a very important meeting. But will she let you in?

Now implemented: your inventory. Based on the fabric belt that the character wears, it opens with a cool unraveling animation. There are a number of useful items that you can gain through your interactions with other characters!

Laia Serra is the talented musician composing for Song of the Peacock. For the music that will play in the palace, we looked for something somber, that reflected the weight of a space reserved for royalty.

One of the coolest parts of going to events is finding community with other programmers and getting feedback on your work. Juls' pin had a lot of success too
