Tonight I read something that made me wonder about old friends…

When I was small, i would retreat into books, because they were places where i could feel a sort of comprehensible motivation, and where i felt "safe." Now when I read, it is not my voice but the writers voice, and I am much less likely to feel "safe," so I read less often.

Imagine if things shook out different and if you went to a comic book store there weren't superheros and instead they were on the fiftyith millionth reboot of Kewpies, Dolly Dingle, Dorothy Gale, Raggedy Ann and Andy, The Potato Face Blind Man, ect.

I get so much joy from drawing a confused or murky version of a meme because the whole point of the meme is that it's a rigid format that is easily legible and reproducible, its a container for an idea, but then you're making it about the container, you're drawing attention to it.

If i complete too many tasks i dont know what to do with myself. I started reading a comic i had meant to read for years but had this horrible intuition. That it was actually bad.
