Working on a journaling solo RPG for the Mock Cover Jam. It’s called ‘the pictures i took that day’, and it’s going to be the first time I’ll be using a tarot deck for the prompts. Just 9 days to go… Let’s do this!

I’m working on a submission for the Mock Cover Game Jam, and I can’t decide whether I want to make a solo, duet/correspondence or GMless TTRPG. And then I wake up in the middle of the night and my mind goes: ‘Why not all three?’ Why do I have to be like that?! Ah well, 20 days left. Let’s go!

Today I’ve sent out my first ever submission for a writing contest. A short story with the theme ‘72 hours’. Creative writing is something I’ve always done, but never consistently and I struggle to find my own voice. I’m still learning, but sending it out into the world is a big step forward.

It’s difficult navigating life at the moment: rehabbing, figuring out what I want to do. But TTRPGs, and especially Vampire, help me immensely. Playing, GMing, writing, discussing ideas with wonderful people. I’m so glad to have those things in my life right now.

7,5 weeks post ACL surgery, and I’m getting back up on my feet again (pun intended). Still not able to do a whole lot, but listening to APs like Private Nigtmares @projectghostlight.bsky.social and The REDACTED Reports make me want to start writing my own TTRPG scenarios again.

6 weeks post surgery, and it gets really boring really fast to not be able to get out of the house, except for a daily walk. Finished Cyberpunk 2077 though. Now I’m reading some Kult scenarios, and have an idea for a new Vampire: the Masquerade oneshot. Keeping myself entertained.

Well shit. My main employment where I’m a freelance writer is folding at the end of the month. That’s $3-4k/month just gone all of a sudden. If anyone has any suggestions for work to fill that gap, please let me know. I’m a solid writer used to writing 3-5 articles per weekday, no AI ever.

4 weeks since I had my ACL reconstruction surgery. I had hoped to start walking with only 1 crutch this week, but that’s not in the cards for me just yet. It’s a tough and long recovery process, but I’m going to get through it. Anyone any suggestions for books/films/games/TTRPGs to cheer me up?

Last Tuesday, we had a session 0 to make our characters for a mini campaign of Stonetop. I never heard of this TTRPG, but we had such fun creating our characters and getting to know our village. I play Eilwen, a Seeker with a dark ambition. Can’t wait to see what adventures we’ll encounter!

Last night, in our Delta Green/Impossible Landscapes campaign, there was a funeral service for my character, Agent Baker. OOC time, she died more than 6 months ago. But still, it was very moving to hear everyone’s words about her, even brought tears to my eyes. That’s the emotional power of TTRPGs.

How does one learn to be an editor? Part of my current job is to edit formal/policy/non fiction texts, but I would love to get into editing fiction/TTRPG texts. Are there any courses/training (preferably online) which focus on the full scope of editing of written fiction books?

Yesterday's session of our Vampire the Masquerade chronicle, Amsterdam by Night, was the first session in a long time that I felt comfortable in my GMing, thanks to my amazing players who picked up the threads I put down and had strong IC conversations among themselves. I ran a 1-on-1 session yesterday for a Vampire the Masquerade chronicle I am a guest player in sometimes. I played Elena again, which is always a delight. I got to explore her manipulative and seductive side, and I have to say: she is one scary Lasombra when she tries to get you under her control.

I am doing a solo playthrough of Death of the Author by @goblinmixtape.bsky.social. The story starts to turn into a spicy novella about a young actress in NY whose affair with an older actor gets exposed. And now his son entered the picture?! Not my normal vibe, but it’s fun to write though 😇

Normally, October would be filled to the brim with horror TTRPG sessions and streams. But this year, I’ve taken a step back to overcome the monsters in my own mind. Which doesn’t mean everything needs to be cozy and nice. What is your favorite horror TTRPG to run/play this month?

The last couple of months, I did not GM as much as I used to. I only did some black box scenes for our VtM chronicle, and short sessions at a convention. But tonight, I ran a 4-hour long Vaesen oneshot, in which I finally felt confident again with my GM’ing, and not totally exhausted afterwards.

I got to run intro sessions of When the End Comes (my own TTRPG) and Vampire the Masquerade at a convention (Main Quest Con) today and yesterday. I forgot how much fun it is to introduce players to a new system/game. Now I have no social spoons left, so I’ll be sleeping for the next few days.

Tonight, I’m going to GM a Vampire the Masquerade session in which we do black box scenes for the PCs to get to know them and their Touchstones better. This is also the first session after deciding that we are going to do a hard reset on the chronicle. Let’s start over!

I’m rewriting the premisse for my Vampire the Masquerade chronicle. I had no idea what my drive was and where the story would go. I’m now figuring that out with my players before we continue the story. The GM is also a player who should enjoy the story, so don’t be afraid to admit it is you aren’t.

How do you deal with imposter syndrome as a #TTRPG Game Master? I have a session to GM this evening, and I have prep ready. But it’s meager at best, or at least, it feels that way. What do you do to hype yourself up and make the best of what you got at the moment?

Well, that ended differently than expected. No meeting, but one on the run and the other captured. I love the characters we created and the story that developed through the letters. There is an open ending, so maybe we will discover how their story continues later down the line. I ❤️ TTRPGs!

I am writing my final letter for this game of Dead Letter Society. There is a feeling of sadness, since I have grown attached to the vampires we’ve created. But their story has been epic and took many turns we didn’t expect. Right up until the end, with a possible meeting in their near future…

I joined a Vampire the Requiem one-shot yesterday, in which the other 3 players had no experience with the World of Darkness at all. It’s always fun to see the exact moment the vibe and setting click in their heads. Politics and moral dilemmas, that’s what they asked for and that’s what they got.

#TTRPG Dead Letter Society update: When you send your letter with the CW: bleak, and the other player responds with “Yikes” after reading it, you are doing something right, right?! Sometimes the player’s mood is reflected in the character’s, and let’s just say mine wasn’t the best when I wrote it.

We are 4 cycles in in a game of correspondence and journaling TTRPG #DeadLetterSociety, and this story is getting intense. It turned into an elaborate story about trust, betrayal and the question whether it’s better to find companionship or to live in isolation in order to survive.

This afternoon, I completed #ClairObscurExpedition33. What a wonderful journey and amazing storytelling! I don’t cry often with video games, but the end made me a blubbering mess 😭
