My kid may have saved a girl's life this weekend when he took the time to talk with her at the park. I can't think of how things could have ended differently if he had not taken time to listen and find out her story. Her story has a happy ending, this runaway was found and returned to her family.

In memory of the most glorious tree. Branches that curled and unfurled beauty in all directions in all seasons. Fall was my favorite to see the splendor of red colour emerge in the garden. We moved away from her three years ago. Who knew you could miss a tree like a good friend?

Skippy. They're my favourite squirrel. Might get a little house or one of those picnic tables for snacks this Winter since the bush is all out of berries.

We hiked to the medicine wheel today in honor of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. The land teaches us respect for it's caretakers from generations before and to continue to care and preserve it for future generations.🧡

Nutters has yet to tackle the 'Squirrel Buster' feeders. Lots of other food in the garden for them, but sunflower chips are the backyard junk food. I think we underestimate how smart squirrels are.

In a world that is sometimes uncertain, I find increasing amounts of joy in the small things surrounding me.

La Cite de la Mer. One of the coolest museums to visit! It is the story of humanity's relationship with the sea. All the amazing submarines are on display, including my childhood favourite Alvin, Deepsea Challenger, and the first French Nuclear sub the Redoutable that you can tour! 🛟

Arromanche site of the ruins of the Allied forces artificial port and Point du Hoc where Omaha beach is. The scale of the machinery of war is impactful. It's one thing to read about the war, and another deeper feeling all together when you are up close to history.

Juno Beach. The contrast of the beautiful landscape and the tragedies of battle that occurred here on D-Day were ever present.

Visiting Normandy. The evidence of why "Never Again" should never happen again.
