This looks GOOD. I stopped watching halfway through because I want to discover it all in game. I do believe this is from the Mario Odyssey team. Every action and interaction with the world looks so engaging and fun. Soon!

When Splatoon 3rd kits were announced, I saw people didn't believe it at first because it wasn't anywhere else. I didn't know about Splatoon Raiders until Stephen Totilo posted about it on substack. The Splatoon news was on Twitter and Youtube later, but it was a strange morning.

Nintendo has validated my game design

Nintendo seems to be allergic to the terms "resolution" and "frame rate" and it makes these Splatoon 3 patch notes pretty useless. "More detail" *might* mean higher resolution, but under the Switch 1 section it says certain objects won't be rendered. So maybe this means adding clutter objects or 🧵

If this game is $80 then I have to assume $80 is the new standard for full priced games from Xbox. The first game was not a AAA blockbuster. The sequel looks good and I'm interested in playing it, but I don't know how they're going to convince people that it's worth $80.

Geoff doesn't decide when games are released. Up until a month ago, GTA 6 had a fall release date. This show and the trailers in it were planned many months before that. How is the state of the industry one person's fault? He still has to throw a big show to entice publishers to participate.

Top two games want to test on Switch 2: Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and Astral Chain. They are interesting because they both have anti-aliasing disabled in handheld mode. I'm also curious how games with dynamic resolution like XC2 will handle. I assume they'll maintain their max resolution more often.

I wasn't planning to, but I caved. Walked into a store yesterday afternoon. They still had 5 or 6 consoles. No lines, no fuss.
