I went for a run after two months of Achiles tendon recovery and my Garmin watch told me afterwards that it was an unproductive workout and it docked my VO2Max from 50 to 48. Geez, thanks! That's GLaDOS level of demotivation!

Hot take: Portal 1 was much better than Portal 2. I'm only saying hot take because it seems that Portal 2 seems to have gotten much better press overall.

Thinking more about my Slay The Spire experience, once you have some incredible combos and runs, it sucks to have to go through some so-so runs where nothing really clicks in interesting ways. I wonder if that can be designed around, at least somewhat.

I've been binging on Slay the Spire for the last week or so (for research purposes mind you 😃). I went from "This is a crappy deck builder" to "OMG this is so awesome!" to "Love it when it goes well, but I wish I had more control"

I started making games as a hobby on a Casio PB-100 in 1985 and then on the Amstrad CPC and later PCs. Started professionally in 1998 and then moved to full-time indie in 2007.

Today in the crazy exciting #indiedev life: Writing a pitch doc for my next game 🤔 I blame @greyalien.bsky.social for that. In all seriousness, it's a good exercise that helps me put more ideas I had in my head on paper (as opposed to being a flashy presentation to get investors on board).

For some reason that one hit me right there and made me feel super old. Windows XP for me was the best Windows version (and the last one I used as a daily driver).

Setting up Windows 11 for the first time, and wow! This is one of the shittiest, slimiest user experiences I've had in a while. They first force you to log in with an MS account and then they proceed to upsell you in 4-5 subscription things? Amazing.

First time creating a new empty project in almost 5 years! Time to start prototyping... except that I want to update a bunch of libraries, set up CMake correctly and a bunch of other housekeeping. #gamedev #indiegamedev
