#hatm, they had to bring in a dummy for Cary Elwes during the Miracle Max scenes Mandy bruised a rib trying to hold back laughter.

My wife: “she can’t pick up a sword and fight the ROUS??” Everyone gets to have fun except Robin Wright.

Cary Elwes says in his memoir that the movie was received as not-so-special until it became available on home video so people could show their kids. #hatm

I got to know Cary Elwes as Robin Hood via Mel Brooks and came to this afterward. He’s truly awesome as an art thief con-man in Psych, a show my wife and I watch yearly. #hatm

#HATM, they perfected this swordfight choreography so well that the final cut was like two minutes. Rob Reiner couldn’t let the greatest swordfight in history be so short. They went back and choreographed more.

#HATM, Cary Elwes sprained his ankle pretty seriously riding Andre’s ATV. He did the “greatest swordfight” in history on this bum ankle.

#HATM, Wallace Shawn assumed he was going to get fired. Andre the Giant was always in so much back pain that he had an ATV to get around and drank a bottle of cognac a night to “ease” his pain.

#HATM, hard to believe this was the more famous Sarandon at one time. Wallace Shawn also hated his performance. He complained he couldn’t do Sicilian. Rob Reiner assured him that, funny enough, this Sicilian sounds “just like you.”

I’m just in my office knee-deep in AI-related honor code offenses and looking out the window watching a dog crap in my yard while the owner stares at her phone. Like, what are we even doing.

So I visited Cape Ann as a kid in the summer. Now, my best bud from college lives on the South shore in Plymouth. I love Massachusetts. My buddy gets up at 5 am to get swordfish right off the boat. #hatm

My great-great Uncle Fritz lived on the north shore, Manchester, and worked in Gloucester. We visited him three summers in a row- 97-98-99. I read it as an 11-year-old in one sitting. He knew the guys. Now, he was also a storyteller, but he probably did “know” these guys. #hatm

We have pan-seared swordfish, fried eggplant, and roasted corn. Also homemade baguette and basque red wine. These will be slathered in olive oil, butter, garlic and oregano. #hatm

I am totally in for this, and I have not seen this director’s cut, but other versions cut out DDL’s best one-liners.

Wife: I mean, it has more plot than Top Gun… #hatm She was not a fan, but she also had 4.0 lifetime gpa so the premise escapes her.
