My father in law passed this weekend at the grand age of 90. He played rugby for Munster, he trained as an electrician, be built up a firm of 300 electricians (Kirby Electrical now employ c. 2500), retired at 60 and created a new life as an esteemed judge of terriers. Rest in peace Michael

My Dad won 4 Harty Cup medals with the Mon. One (or 2) were melted down for tabernacle in St Francis. We have 2; 1942-43; 43-44. My dad always called to school insisting the translation of my name Jeremiah is Diarmuid. Great to see D Ó Murcada (both our names) on these medals.

My beautiful granny Nora lived in my family home. She was born in 1898; saw war of independence, burning of Patrick’s Street, funeral of Michael Collins. She was widowed in her 40’s and lived to 93. She loved life, family, stories & cooking. Regina captured her magic @culinaryireland.bsky.social
