Claims that Nigel Farage is on all the time are not borne out in the sample period 2014-2024. In fact in this period, he was a less frequent guest than the former Green party leader, Caroline Lucas. (3/6)

To the Ellisons, $8B for the chance to censor CBS reports about atrocious Trump regime actions is a good deal. To Elon Musk (and the Saudis), $44B to censor and manipulate Twitter is worth it. They don't need profits from media properties. For them, money long ago crossed the threshold into power.

My entire X timeline is anti-EU posts from people I don't follow. Even if I change it from 'for you' to 'following', it switches back to 'for you' each time I open the site. X is being weaponised against the EU. And unfortunately X is still the public square for European journalists & politicians.

Just as media experts and pretty much everyone with a sane mind warned of right from the start: Corporate censorship in journalism is now taking hold in US media. European, esp. German media need to watch closely - and prepare upfront for how this strategy will show itself not abroad, but at home.

Starmer is an interesting case. He came into office because he promised to turn the economy around, partly by creating a stable investment climate. Now, under pressure from the far right, he risks turning the UK into a shrinking society and reducing the university sector to dust.

Agree with all of this, other than "the right will go 'pro-natalist" - I think what will happen is that much of the right will shift from 'blaming our ills on immigration' to 'blaming our ills on ethnic diversity', which is already happening to an extent.

Labour obviously eyeing to make the next election a referendum on having a closer relationship to the EU. Which is the right call (just look at the polls) Problem is: Not a lot of people are passionate about custom unions. And going all in is against Starmer‘s nature (and his red lines).

This seems to be closer to Article 42 of the EU treaties than Article 5 of NATO. It says it will be subject to "national procedures" (aka parliamentary ratification) and be broad in nature so that countries can choose how they assist Ukraine. Military aid is an option, but not the only one.
