New @nature.com paper from Jack Wharton @ucl.ac.uk. Using deep-ocean sediments, the study shows that North Atlantic Deep Water (NADW) formation during the Last Glacial Maximum persisted at similar depths to today & was much warmer than previously assumed. 📄 www.nature.com/articles/s41... <1/3>

We left yesterday from sunny Tromsø for the annual #FramStraitNPI cruise aboard #FFKronprinsHaakon! We'll spend the next 3 weeks at around 79°N in Fram Strait, collecting lots of oceanographic data and samples for the @epocproject.bsky.social and several other projects. Stay tuned for updates!
