I was just working to make a query in a sample database more efficient when I realized something was off in the EXPLAIN plan. Apparently, somewhere along the way, I removed some GiST indexes on geography columns and... they're like important or something? 🤦🏻‍♂️😂

Updating some #Postgres training for upcoming conference and internal sessions, and I never cease to be amazed at what a global community of developers can accomplish when they share the same passion for creating something useful and amazing. Today, for no specific reason, indexes are my focus...

Just used CoPilot to take a (simple) SQL Server schema script and convert it to PostgreSQL for a training example. Convert syntax, CamelCase->snake_case, SPROCs->PostgreSQL functions, & other syntax changes on function definitions. A couple of prompts and saved me 20min of manual work. #helpfulAI
