AI is failing the test when it comes to factual accuracy; the decline of news and journalism won't help. It serves the financial interest of AI companies—and the mission of the OpenAI nonprofit—to invest in reviving local news, says Rebuild Local News President Steven Waldman.

PBS KIDS programming is genuinely higher quality than the kids shows on commercial networks, most of which is built to sell toys. Weather Hunters launched just on this month on PBS, and it's already the 6 year old's favorite.

Em dash discourse is emblematic of why we're so vulnerable to AI deception. It promises a shortcut to identifying AI — one that doesn't work but still gets more attention than the slower, more subjective tools that do work: reading comprehension, source checking, & critical engagement with ideas.
